Helping graduates prepare for registration

The NZRAB is urging managers of architecural practices to make sure their graduate employees receive the breath of work and support required to help them advance to registration. For more in this go here.
Consultation

Architects and the NZRAB's other stakeholders are being asked to give feedback on a proposed new fee which would be charged applicants for initial registration in New Zealand who are registered as APEC Architects in other specified economies that are participating in the APEC Architect Project. OIA Inquiry

The NZRAB has received an Official Information Act inquiry
regarding the credit card payments made by the NZRAB's Chief Executive over the last two years. You can view the inquiry here. In response, you can view the credit card invoices etc. in reverse sequence here and here and here and here and here, and the relevant policies here and here. Note that the NZRAB is fully funded by architects and registration applicants.

Draft Competence Review Form

In 2011, for the first time, some architects will need to undertake their five-yearly competence reviews. Architects who have
not achieved the 1000 CPD points bench-mark will be required to fill out a form describing the work that they do and what they've done to stay current. A draft of this form can be viewed here or, as a PDF, here.
New Board members sought

The Minister of Building and Housing is seeking expressions of interest of persons willing to serve on the Board of the NZRAB. The deadline has been extended to 7 May. An announcement on this can be viewed here.
Continuing Registration Application Form

The NZRAB is required to undertake five yearly reviews of all architects, to confirm their competence. The first reviews take place in 2011. Feedback is sought on a draft

Fee Changes Promulgated

Changes to the NZRAB Rules and Fee Schedule have been gazetted. These cover new rules and fees required for five-yearly Competence Reviews starting in 2011 and some other changes tidying up various anomolies. You can view the new schedule and the attendant rule changes here.
