New NZRAB Board appointments announced (19 August 2010)
The Minister for Building and Construction has announced a number of new appointments and a reappointment to the Board of the NZRAB. You can view his statement here.

Helping graduates prepare for registration (29 July 2010)
The NZRAB is urging managers of architecural practices to make sure their graduate employees receive the breath of work and support required to help them advance to registration. For more in this go here.

Consultation (12 July 2010)
Architects and the NZRAB's other stakeholders are being asked to give feedback on a proposed new fee which would be charged applicants for initial registration in New Zealand who are registered as APEC Architects in other specified economies that are participating in the APEC Architect Project. OIA Inquiry (6 July 2010)
The NZRAB has received an Official Information Act inquiry regarding the credit card payments made by the NZRAB's Chief Executive over the last two years. You can view the inquiry here. In response, you can view the credit card invoices etc. in reverse sequence here and here and here and here and here, and the relevant policies here and here. Note that the NZRAB is fully funded by architects and registration applicants.
 
NZRAB Strategic Plan 2010 - 2015 (2 July 2010)

Consultation re continuing registration application form (22 June 2010)
The NZRAB is consulting with architects in regard to the application form that from 2011 architects will need to fill out for their five-year Competence Reviews. You can view the consulation request here and the draft application form here.

Brochure published (8 June 2010)
The NZRAB has published a brochure titled Problems With Your Client? It explains practical steps to help architects ensure that their relationships with their clients are positive and don't result in a complaint. You can view the brochure here and the text here. 

NZRAB fees as a result of 1 October 2010 GST increase (3 May 2010)
The increase in GST announced in the budget means that the fees that architects and registration applicants are required to pay will go up on 1 October 2010. You can view the changes here.

Occupational licensing in the building sector (26 April 2010)
Occupational licensing in the building sector is being reviewed. The NZRAB has been asked to give its opinions on possible reform options. You can view an outline of the NZRAB's current thinking here.
 
Draft Competence Review Form (26 April 2010)
In 2011, for the first time, some architects will need to undertake their five-yearly competence reviews. Architects who have not achieved the 1000 CPD points bench-mark will be required to fill out a form describing the work that they do and what they've done to stay current. A draft of this form can be viewed here or, as a PDF, here. 

New Board members sought (7 April 2010)
The Minister of Building and Housing is seeking expressions of interest of persons willing to serve on the Board of the NZRAB. The deadline has been extended to 7 May. An announcement on this can be viewed here.

Continuing Registration Application Form (7 April 2010)
The NZRAB is required to undertake five yearly reviews of all architects, to confirm their competence. The first reviews take place in 2011. Feedback is sought on a draft Continuing Registration Competence Review Application Form for architects who have not reached the 1000 CPD points target for automatic ongoing registration. Fee Changes Promulgated (11 March 2010)
Changes to the NZRAB Rules and Fee Schedule have been gazetted. These cover new rules and fees required for five-yearly Competence Reviews starting in 2011 and some other changes tidying up various anomolies. You can view the new schedule and the attendant rule changes here.
